Paver patios and walkways built on a base that stays level
Interlocking pavers and natural stone laid on a compacted base with clean edges and joints that stay put.
Paving
What we do
Pavers give you the look of stone with the durability to survive New Jersey winters, and unlike a poured slab they can be lifted and reset if anything ever moves. The difference between a patio that looks great for twenty years and one that heaves in three is all in the base, and that is where we spend our time.
We help you pick a paver style, color and pattern that fits your home, lay out the space so it works for how you actually use it, and finish with restrained edges, polymeric sand and optional sealing.
What we offer
Paving services we offer
Paver patios
Backyard patios sized and shaped around how you entertain, with borders, inlays and seating walls if you want them.
Walkways and front entries
Straight or curved walkways that improve curb appeal and handle foot traffic, snow shovels and salt.
Paver driveways
A deeper base and thicker pavers rated for vehicle loads, for a driveway that looks nothing like the neighbors' blacktop.
Pool decks
Cool-to-the-touch pavers and travertine with proper pitch away from the pool and slip-resistant finishes.
Steps, edging and borders
Paver and wall-block steps, soldier-course borders and edge restraints that keep everything locked in place.
Repair, re-leveling and sealing
Sunken or shifted pavers lifted and reset, joints re-sanded, and surfaces cleaned and sealed to revive an older patio.
Paving
The kind of work we do

Our process
How a paving job works
Design and estimate
We measure the space, discuss patterns and materials, and give you a layout and written price.
Excavation and base
Soil is removed to the right depth, geotextile fabric is placed, and stone base is installed and compacted in lifts.
Setting the pavers
A screeded sand bed, pavers laid in your chosen pattern, cuts made cleanly, and edge restraints installed.
Finishing
Polymeric sand is swept and compacted into the joints, the surface is cleaned, and sealing is applied if you chose it.

Good to know
Paving questions we hear most
- Pavers or a poured concrete patio?
- Pavers cost more up front but handle freeze-thaw far better, do not crack the way a slab does, and can be lifted and reset if anything settles. Concrete is cheaper initially but a crack is permanent. For New Jersey we recommend pavers for most patios and walkways.
- How long does a paver patio take?
- Most patios and walkways are finished in 3 to 7 days depending on size, access and the amount of cutting. We give you a schedule with the estimate.
- Will weeds grow between the pavers?
- With polymeric sand properly installed, weeds and ants are largely kept out. Over time joints may need a top-up, which is a quick maintenance job.
- Do I need to seal my pavers?
- Sealing is optional. It deepens the color, resists stains and makes cleaning easier, but it does need reapplying every few years. We will explain the tradeoffs so you can decide.
