Repointing
Deteriorated mortar is ground out and replaced to stop water intrusion and restore strength without replacing sound brick.
Crown repair and replacement
A cracked crown is the most common source of chimney leaks. We repair or pour a new sloped, overhanging crown that sheds water.
Caps and dampers
Stainless caps keep out rain, animals and debris, and top-sealing dampers cut drafts and energy loss.
Flashing repair
Step and counter flashing where the chimney meets the roof is reset or replaced to end the leaks that show up as ceiling stains.

- How do I know if my chimney needs repair?
- Common signs are white staining on the brick, crumbling or missing mortar, a cracked crown, rust on the cap or damper, water stains on ceilings near the chimney, or brick pieces showing up on the roof or ground. If you see any of these, have it looked at before winter.
- Can you rebuild just the top of the chimney?
- Yes. Damage is usually worst above the roofline where the chimney is fully exposed. If the section below is sound, a partial rebuild from the roofline up is a common and cost-effective repair.
- Why is my chimney leaking?
- The usual causes are a cracked crown, failed flashing, missing cap, or porous mortar. Often it is more than one. We check all of them rather than guessing, so the fix lasts.
- Do you clean or sweep chimneys?
- We focus on the masonry: rebuilds, repointing, crowns, caps, flashing and waterproofing. For interior sweeping and flue inspections we can recommend a certified sweep.
