Masonry services

Brick, block and stone masonry built to last generations

Steps, walls, veneer and repairs done by masons who care about clean joints and straight lines.

Masonry

What we do

Good masonry is obvious from the curb: straight courses, consistent joints, and stone or brick that suits the house. Bad masonry is just as obvious, and it usually fails within a few winters. Our masons build with proper footings, correct mortar mixes, and drainage behind every wall, because the work is only beautiful if it stays that way.

From a set of front steps to a full stone veneer, we handle the design details with you, source materials that match your home, and leave a job site cleaner than we found it.

What we offer

Masonry services we offer

  • Steps and stoops

Brick, bluestone and cultured stone entry steps built on a solid footing so they never settle or pull away from the house.

  • Retaining walls

Block, natural stone and segmental walls with proper base, drainage stone and weep holes to hold back soil without bowing.

  • Stone and brick veneer

Full or thin veneer for foundations, chimneys, columns and exterior walls that transforms the look of your home.

  • Repointing and tuckpointing

Old, crumbling mortar is ground out and replaced with a matching mix to stop water intrusion and restore the original look.

  • Foundation repair and parging

Crack repair, block replacement and fresh parging to seal and protect exposed foundation walls.

  • Outdoor living features

Fire pits, seating walls, pillars, mailboxes and outdoor kitchens that tie your patio and landscape together.

Our process

How a masonry job works

  1. Consultation and estimate

We look at the site, talk through materials and style, and give you a written quote with a realistic timeline.

  2. Footings and prep

Every wall and set of steps starts below frost depth on a compacted, properly sized footing.

  3. Laying and finishing

Courses are set level and plumb, joints are tooled consistently, and everything is cleaned before we call it done.

  4. Final walkthrough

We walk the finished work with you and explain any curing time or sealing recommendations.

Good to know

Masonry questions we hear most

Can you match the brick or stone on my house?
In most cases, yes. We source from regional suppliers and can match color, size and texture closely. For older homes with discontinued brick, we will show you the nearest options before any work starts.
How do I know if my wall needs repointing?
Look for mortar that is cracked, recessed more than a quarter inch, crumbles when scratched, or has gaps where water can get in. Catching it early is far cheaper than rebuilding.
Do retaining walls need a permit?
Many New Jersey towns require a permit for walls over a certain height, often 4 feet. We will let you know what your municipality requires and help with the paperwork.
How long does masonry work take?
A set of front steps usually takes 2 to 4 days. Retaining walls and veneer projects run from a few days to two weeks depending on size. We give you a schedule in the estimate.
